MEET MELISSA
Friendly exercise and yoga teacher

Hi! My name is Melissa Krieger. I teach fun classes that help people stay active, age strong, and reduce stress.

I've worked in the health and fitness industry for 25 years! I earned my certification as a Personal Trainer in 2000 and as a yoga instructor in 2005.

I love teaching and have taught over 10,000 hours of yoga instruction.

I teach on Zoom from my living room, in-person at Oak Bay Recreation and online with doyogawithme.com.

I also teach retreats and have been hosting groups at Stowel Lake Farm on Salt Spring Island since 2016.

  • I've been a teacher on doyogawithme.com - a yoga site that features free, high quality online classes - since 2010.

  • I've produced two Yoga4Strength DVDs, the original Yoga4Strength DVD in 2009 (view the trailer here) and Yoga4Strength with Weights DVD in 2014 (view the trailer here).

  • I had a weekly television segment on CHEK TV’s 'Island 30' show from January 2010 to June 2011. I designed the segment, Serenity and Strength, to give viewers an easy-to-follow exercise they can safely do at home.

  • I was nominated for the BCRPA (British Columbia Recreation and Parks Association) Personal Trainer of the Year in 2005.

  • I presented at The BCRPA Island Fitness Conference in 2012 and 2013.

  • I presented at the Victoria Yoga Conference in 2014, 2015, and 2016.

  • I've taught as a guest instructor for Camosun College's Athletics and Recreation program, the now closed MokSana Yoga as well as Ajna Yoga.

  • I worked extensively with physiotherapist Jodi Ganton, who specializes in helping patients with pelvic floor dysfunction.
